How To Measure
Take a photo of your window and measure
- Determine if you want inside or outside mounted blinds.
- Blinds mounted on the inside of the window frame provide a clean look
- Blinds mounted on the outside of the window frame provide the illusion of a longer and wider window, also helping to hide unattractive windows.
How to measure for inside mounted horizontal blinds:
Step 1. Measure the exact window width at top, middle, and bottom.
Step 2. Use the narrowest width. Do not make any deductions – provide the exact measurements of the narrowest width. The factory will make the necessary deductions to accommodate for the headrail and mounting brackets.
Step 3. Measure exact window height at the left, middle, and right side.
Step 4. Use the longest height. Do not make any deductions – provide the exact measurements of the longest height. With Vertical Blinds the factory will make any necessary deductions to accommodate for the height of the headrail.
How to measure for outside mounted blinds
Step 1. Measure the exact width where the blind is to be placed.
Step 2. Add at least 3 inches for overlap (1-1/2″ per side) for optimum light control and privacy.
Step 3. Measure the exact height from the top of the proposed headrail location to the base of the sill. If there is no sill, measure to where the blind is to reach.
Step 4. Add 1-1/2″ to the height for optimum light control.
